STRENGTHENING COMMUNITIES

SUSTAINABLE TECHNOLOGIES FOR EVERYONE

EQUITABLE ACCESS & DISTRIBUTION OF GREEN TECHNOLOGIES

DIVERSITY, EQUITY, INCLUSION

FOUNDATION FOR A STRONG COMMUNITY

Pittsburgh founded, we view this company as an extension of the vibrancy of our own diverse communities.

From every person we hire, to every partnership we build, we look to engage the most diverse representation of people, from all communities, regardless of race, ethnicity, gender identity, sexual orientation, socioeconomic status, language, culture, national origin, religious commitments, age or ability status.

Accomplishing equitable access and distribution of green technology involves collaboration with the communities that we affect, and a keen understanding of the barriers and unique needs for their varying daily routines. As an organization that looks to incorporate a broad range of “quality of life” enhancing - green technology, we maintain that equitable and inclusive programs can only be built by understanding equitable safety compliance measures, community transportation gaps, environmental justice zones, economic recovery focus areas, low-income, underresourced and underrepresented locations, as well as community beautification projects that enhance their unique cultural ideals.

HOW CAN WE HELP YOUR MUNICIPALITY?

EQUITABLE RESIDENTIAL EV CURBSIDE CHARGING (#REVCC)

LOCATION! LOCATION! LOCATION!

  • MOST STRATEGIC PLANS USE AN UNRESEARCHED GUIDELINE OF INSTALLING EV CHARGING STATIONS WITHIN A 10 MIN WALK OF HOMES

  • CURRENTLY, NO U.S. MUNICIPALITIES UTILIZE AN EV STRATEGIC PLAN CENTERED ON PANDEMIC-BASED WORK-FROM-HOME STATISTICS.

  • HOUSE-TO-HOUSE PERMITTING IS A MUNICIPAL RESOURCE HOG

WHY FOCUS ON A 10 MIN WALK, WHEN ONLY 23% OF PEOPLE WOULD WALK 10 MIN, AND 37% OF PEOPLE WOULDN’T WALK AT ALL?

HOWEVER, 51% WOULD WALK 5 MINUTES… NOT ONLY DID WE SURVEY TO FIND OUT, BUT WE ARE PROVING IT!

WHAT CAN WE DO? Our EcoSystem starts with Equitable Location Scouting for EV Curbside Charging install sites.  We have proven coverages of EV charger locations to be at or less than a 5 min walk with fewer stations than a municipal parking lot, by looking directly at the neighborhoods where 70-80% of the US Population lives… the Urban Neighborhoods!   Coordinating with your local municipality, our #REVCC program goal is to maximize Commercial Grade Level 2 EV charger coverage over large urban areas of all demographics. Together with your local municipality, we offer a turn-key solution for Urbanizing the EV Charging Infrastructure!   The goal is to provide equitable charging locations to all demographics!   CONTACT US FOR A ONE PAGER! * Green Edge Technologies Anonymous Residential Plug-in EV Ownership survey available here.

How Our Curbside Charging Works

We have several elements that make us more unique than what is currently available in the market.

First and foremost, your municipality and the constituents are the primary focus. We also realize that most municipalities are overburdened with other tasks, and most elected officials also have other jobs in addition to handling the day-to-day within a municipality. Therefore we are set up to be an out-of-the-box solution for setting up and managing your new EV charging infrastructure – with Equity at the forefront. Therefore, the following services are offered

To Your Municipality for

FREE

  • No one in the market can touch our extensive and cooperative location scouting and justification. This is not a site survey. “Site surveying” is typically a term that a company may use when they don’t address “Usability,” “Equity,” nor can they discuss the difference between “Availability” and “Accessibility”. Identifying whether a location is easily integrated into the grid is a fairly simple task that we can handle easily with your local Utility company. And NO, they shouldn’t charge you for this.

  • Location Scouting and Justification requires boots on the ground, door knocking, community surveys, and integration with a mapping system, to actually assess the usability now and in the future – of your new site. As in, who will use the new site, now and in the future?

If you want to see how much effort a company will put into

Accessibility and Usability, ask for a “Usability Study”

  • We go after all applicable funding for your project. We don’t simply “Help” you, and still make you do the work. This also applies to all future reporting requirements
  • We make sure that all work is in compliance with your state and local requirements
  • Validate and select all machines FOR YOU. You have as much say as you want. We are technology agnostic, so what matters to us is that you have the correct machine to find the best for all of your needs.
  • Local service and support is identified before the project starts. The last thing you need is to stress about your uptime requirements for funders. Not to mention, they will need to be involved in the installation and implementation discussions.
  • 10 year ROI and Cost Analysis based on Usability. There are rare instances in which a funder will require a 10 year contract, although this is very rare in the market (most are 3-5 years), established machine technology becomes outdated in 10 years. Newer technology like EV charging should be considered an Emerging Technology, and most funders understand that the technology can only be future-ready to an extent. We go above and beyond to make sure that your stations are sustainable and cash reserves are accumulated to help accommodate future repair and replacement needs.
  • Simplification and standardization of ROWs and Easements. This usually comes into the way that we contract with you. It is not our mission to own the infrastructure, so we typically are structured to let the municipality own the infrastructure, and we are a complete management service. However, alterations to this model can be discussed.
  • Fully insured – $1MM
  • Variable Rate Maintenance based on Time Of Use rates from your local utility. This is a regular maintenance that we handle.
  • On Demand Service and Support.  The majority of companies will claim that they handle the maintenance – when the data will show that they don’t. This is why we start with service and support during the planning stages.
  • Focus on Uptime not Redundancy. A common term in the industry is “Redundancy”. This is an easy way to justify making you purchase more chargers than you need (because they didn’t do a Usability Study) and it sells more machines $$ – which also helps boost “Availabilty” numbers. However, at Green Edge Tech, we focus on high Usability, and operate with a “Dig Once” mentality. The most expensive part is the initial connection to the grid. We can prepare the site for future growth, while not purchasing unnecessarily.
